Were you confused by the media's puzzlement over Imelda Marcos and her 365+ pairs of shoes with matching bags? Did you totally get her fascination with having a different pair of shoes for each day and outfit? Do you keep shoes you bought years ago because you know they'll come back in style one day (and they do)? Do you mourn the loss of the shoes you've had to throw away because they were so worn out? Do you argue with shoemakers over the value of re-soling a favorite pair of shoes, when you could just buy another for less (not that you would find THAT pair again)? Do you regret giving away shoes that you think you'll never wear? Have you ever tried to stretch that 'just a bit' tight pair with baggies of water in the toes in the freezer? Well, I've done all these things and more and if you have too then we “sole-mates” need to band together. SAY “No more!” to feeling bad because we love our shoes, “No more!” to allowing someone else to try to make us get rid of what we love, “No more!” to hiding our passion away in the closet so no one will notice. Do men get made to feel bad about all the sports gear they collect? NO! Do men get made to feel bad about the tools they just 'have to have'? NO! Do men get belittled when they buy themselves the latest gadget? HELL NO! So, why are we made to feel bad when we indulge our love for shoes? I say again: “NO MORE!”
Here is a safe place to love our shoes, to share our passion, to pass along where to get the best bargains, tell each other what designers we love the most, see if we can find that lost shoe we would love to have back again. If you're like me, then come on in and share your love. No judgments, just love and maybe a little envy. We can share our stories and not feel badly, how great is that?! So come on in, read a while, leave a comment or two and if you want me to post your thoughts, just let me know and I'll do that. Welcome fellow shoe-lovers, one and all; male or female make yourselves at home here, we love you all.
Come in! Relax and indulge your passion for all things shoe. Everyone is welcome here.
